training services - Survival

At Petrofac Training we have been training delegates in a range of offshore survival courses for over 25 years.

Quality and safety is at the forefront of everything that we do, and our experienced instructors provide realistic and challenging training in a carefully controlled pool and training facilities across our training locations.

Survival training is essential for all individuals wishing to travel offshore via helicopter and provides the delegate with a range of important survival tools.

If you are undertaking Survival Training for the first time but are unsure which course is appropriate for you, see our guide below.

Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)

This 3-day course is the best choice for new delegates who have never undertaken survival training before, or for delegates who have allowed their original certification to expire. It is valid for working in the UKCS and can be upgraded for working in other sectors, including Norway, by undertaking the half day European Module (see details below). The BOSIET certificate is valid for 4 years. We also deliver the BOSIET course from Friday to Sunday to accommodate for delegates that have work commitments during the week.

Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET)

This 1-day course can be undertaken by individuals who have an in-date valid BOSIET certificate. The FOET certificate issued following the training re-validates the certificate for a further 4 years for the UKCS.

Universal Basic Survival

This 3-day basic course replicates the BOSIET course (above) with additional training on Escape Systems. Upon completion of this course, delegates can work within all European sectors. Again this is relevant for delegates who have not undertaken training before or who have allowed their certification to expire.

Universal Refresher Survival

This 1.5-day course includes the FOET course content detailed above together with a European Module, which enables delegates to continue working within all sectors. The course revalidates the Universal Basic Survival certificate for all delegates working in the UKCS and other sectors including Norway and is valid for 4 years.

European Module

This half day module can be undertaken by individuals who have an existing in-date BOSIET or FOET certificate to convert the validity of these certificates to be Europe-wide. NB - BOSIET certificate must be less than 1 year old when training takes place.
