Petrofac Training has been chosen by NEBOSH to pilot a new oil & gas safety qualification: the NEBOSH International Certificate in Oil & Gas.

The pilot course has been scheduled to start on 26 May, with the exam taking place on 30 May in the afternoon. It is expected that after the pilot is successfully completed and assessed, open courses will start running on a monthly basis.

The approximate starting date for open courses is for September, with an estimated course price of £1,200 + fees + VAT. More detailed information on course dates and prices will be available nearer the time.

Course Overview
This course is designed to give delegates a sound understanding of effective health & safety management processes across all areas of the oil & gas industry.
The qualification focuses on international standards and management systems, enabling each candidate to effectively discharge workplace health & safety responsibilities both onshore and offshore in the oil & gas industry throughout the world.

Course Structure
The course consists of 5 elements:

• Element 1: Health, Safety and Environmental Management in Context
• Element 2: Hydrocarbon Process Safety
• Element 3: Emergency Response and Fire Protection
• Element 4: Logistics, Transport Operations and Workforce Health
• Element 5: Activities Management

Prerequisites
Delegates will have attained the NEBOSH National or International General Certificate, National Construction Certificate or National Diploma within the last five years.

Target Audience
Managers, supervisors or employees based both in the UK and internationally who have a responsibility for ensuring general health & safety within the oil & gas industry as part of their day-to-day duties.

Certification
NEBOSH certification will be issued to candidates who successfully pass the two-hour written examination that will be held on the last day of the course.
