ONGC India Management of major emergencies training 64 2006 2008 |
In 2006, Petrofac Training was awarded a two-year contract with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), and, for the last eight months a team comprising personnel from Petrofac Training's Middle East and European operations, have been working together to construct a major emergency management simulator for ONGC.
Working closely with the team at ONGC, we scoped out, designed and managed the implementation of an emergency management solution that has resulted in the development of a tailored course syllabus and training facility for ONGC's Offshore Installation Managers (OIMs) to ensure that they have a level of competence to effectively deal with any emergency situation.
The training courses and assessment criteria, together with the newly created specialist emergency management simulator located in ONGC's training centre in Dehradun, some 125 miles from the capital New Delhi, has culminated in the award of OPITO accreditation for Petrofac Training to train and assess OIMs to the OPITO standards.
A total of 64 OIMs are scheduled to have completed training and assessment by April 2008.
