In December 2006 In Salah Gas contacted Petrofac Training to review ISG HSE training requirements specific to the planned shutdown scheduled to start in July 2007. The contract included an initial needs analysis that started in March 2007, and led to the identification and updating of all operational positions likely to take part in the shutdown, as well as updating the HSE training matrix, and developing support and training material.

The emphasis of the training programme is on behavioural-based safety training and attitude of personnel to be trained. The Initial training will be conducted offsite, followed by onsite coaching/mentoring of shutdown personnel by Petrofac Training instructors on behaviour and safety conducts, for the duration of the shutdown lasting 3 months.
