Competence management solutions (CMS)
Training Services has a wealth of knowledge and experience in assisting organisations with developing and building a regional or global competency framework that will support their operational requirements. We work closely with our customers to ensure that we source the best competency solution for them, either in the selection of a globally recognised awarding body or building a bespoke competency framework to meet their specified requirements.
We assist customers in:
- Selecting a relevant competency standard
- Designing and developing an internal competency framework
- Rationalising regional or global job descriptions
- Building of Role Competency Profiles (RCPs)
- Mapping of knowledge and performance criteria
- Designing and developing assessment and verification guidelines and associated supporting documentation
- Ongoing administration and management support
- Provision of qualified assessors
- Provision of qualified verifiers
As part of the design and development process we will undertake an analysis of a company’s existing structure and systems, during which we will undertake a gap analysis of the current customer’s status.
Training Services is approved through the SQA to deliver A1 (Assessor) and V1 (Verifier) training and is also an Engineering and Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB)-approved provider of various engineering National Vocational Qualifications. This provides us with the additional capability to support our customer after the ‘go-live’ in achieving their desired assessment and verification levels within their specified timeframes.
The competence management solutions service offering includes:
- Identification and review of existing capability, including a competency gaps analysis, to identify our customers’ specific competency needs
- Design of a competency framework tailored to our customers’ needs
- Training internal assessors and verifiers and/or provide Petrofac assessors and verifiers
- Recommendation of a competence management software solution for the competence framework, job roles, personnel details, and assessment records
- Providing a comprehensive administration service including the management of the competence management system (CMS), including inputting data, and assessment records
- Quality assurance – audit and review of system and assessment records to ensure compliance with all processes and procedures, and validity and accuracy of the information contained within CMS
