Petrofac has centred its Middle East headquarters in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. In the region, we offer a wide range of training and consultancy services, specialising in the areas of technical, health & safety and critical incident management training.
In January 2008, Dubai Petroleum Establishment and Petrofac announced a joint agreement to invest in, and develop, a safety and technical training centre in Dubai, due to open in September 2008.
The Dubai Petroleum Training Centre (DPTC) will be managed and operated by Petrofac and will provide DPE with a managed training solution, initially encompassing safety training courses, with technical courses planned for the future.
The facility will also be equipped to meet the safety and technical training needs of the oil & gas industry throughout the Middle East, as well as servicing other industries within the energy sector.
Our experienced team have conducted significant training programmes with projects currently being delivered in Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman.
Petrofac began supporting the Caspian region in 1999 by developing and delivering a training programme for the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC). Delegates from AIOC travelled to our facilities in the UK and undertook a range of training, which equipped them with knowledge and skills to take back to their operations in Azerbaijan.
The region presented Petrofac with many opportunities, and in order to service our customers in the region at a local level, we opened our first office in the Caspian region in 2002. We continued to expand and two years later relocated to new facilities to enable us to provide hands on, practical training in lifting operations, and in 2005 added a confined space entry training module to further strengthen our portfolio of health & safety and fire training courses.
In addition to our operation in Baku, Petrofac has developed and delivered training programmes for a number of customers in Georgia, Turkey and Kazakhstan, and most recently developed an emergency management facility for the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) at their training centre in Dehradun, India.
